Originally slated for demolition as part of the "Donuimun New Town" project in 2003, the city of Seoul opted instead to preserve this village. The result is a fascinating “living museum village” where you can explore modern structures, urban-style hanok (traditional Korean houses), and streets that have witnessed over a century of Seoul’s history.

What’s New

Today, Donuimun Museum Village is known for its “100 Years of Seoul, Time Travel Playground in the City” concept. The village has been revamped to include interactive spaces and activities such as exhibitions, experience sessions, performances, and marketplaces. This transformation keeps around 40 historic buildings intact, blending the old with the new in a vibrant cultural setting.
