Why do Korean landlords reject me just because Iโm a foreigner? Why do Korean landlords reject me just because Iโm a foreigner? Why do Korean landlords reject me just because Iโm a foreigner?

Iโve been living in Korea for over 2 years. I speak decent Korean, have a stable job, and a clean rental history.
But every time I try to rent a new apartment, I get the same response:
โSorry, foreigners not allowed.โโจ No explanation. No second chance. Just a flat rejection.
One landlord even said,
โForeigners leave suddenly or donโt pay on time.โโจ I felt hurt. I pay taxes here too. Why am I treated like a risk?
Is this common? Has anyone else experienced this?

Same here. I had full-time work and a Korean guarantor, and they still rejected me just for being non-Korean. Itโs honestly exhausting.

Imagine saying โKoreans donโt pay on timeโ โ people would lose their minds. But somehow itโs okay to generalize foreigners? Hypocrisy much?
