Why is product placement so obvious in K-dramas? > K-Culture

I’ve been noticing a lot of really obvious product placement in K-dramas lately.

It can be distracting when the characters suddenly start promoting a drink or a brand in the middle of an emotional scene. Anyone else find this annoying?
