Taejongdae: Busan's Coastal Gem > Places

Perched at the southern tip of Yeongdo Island, Taejongdae is one of Busan’s most beloved attractions, offering breathtaking natural beauty and panoramic views. This scenic spot is centered around a 250-meter-high hill, surrounded by lush greenery that is home to nearly 120 species of plants. The area is renowned for its dramatic cliffs and unique rock formations that draw visitors year-round.

Exploring Taejongdae can be done on foot, or for a more leisurely experience, visitors can opt for a cruise or ride the popular Danubi tourist train. On clear days, the distant Tsushima Island, located 56 kilometers away, can be seen from the cliffs. Taejongdae was designated a Scenic Site in November 2005 and further recognized as a National Geopark in December 2013, underscoring its ecological and geological significance.
